Speech On The Sport Day

Good morning to the respected teachers and my dear colleagues. We are here today to celebrate a most honorable occasion of sports day. Myself Somanshu Mahajan studying in class Fifth A. I would like to speech on the occasion of Sports Day.
We celebrated August 29 as a National Sports Day in India. This day marks the birthday of the hockey player Dhyan Chand, who won gold medals for India in year 1928, 1932 and 1936.
This day is celebrated by organizing friendly matches between different Indian hockey teams at the Dhyan Chand National stadium in New Delhi which was constructed in the respect and honor of Dhyan Chand. Every school celebrates its Sports Day and, to this all, the children very longingly look forward to. My school the St. Therese Convent School also has its Sports Day every year sometime in the month of November.
There is a great importance of games and sports for the students. The sports teach discipline to the students. These sports are very essential for the students. They also develop the spirit of the sportsmanship and suddenly derive a lot of pleasure by playing games. It also inculcates the quality of team spirit in them.
I love to play and see my friends and others participating with their hearts and souls with a complete involvement in the games. Their victory boosts up even my morale.
Thank You
